Tofu "steaks"
serves 4-5
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Ingredients:
1 block tofu
butter for browning
scant soy sauce
Instructions:
Slice the tofu along the short edge to make 4-5 thin blocks:
Gently heat in butter until lightly brown, then sprinkle on a little soy sauce. Remove before butter or soy sauce begins to burn.
Tips and suggestions:
Add granulate garlic, or pepper, or any other favorite spices to the browning skillet.
Use previously frozen and thawed tofu for a different texture and absorption of the sauce.
Serve with baked potatoes, salad, or whole grain bread.
